We Can Tell Your Content was AI Generated

I’m not impressed…

The other day my boyfriend mentioned something to me about AI technology that could write articles for you. Horrified, I said defiantly, “I’m not interested. Writing, to me, is human. I don’t want to read an article written by a robot.”

When I went to my home page here on Medium today and read the first couple articles, I could tell they were AI generated. My suspicions were confirmed when the article turned out to be exactly about that — AI technology for writing and how great it is and how much money you can make from it.

Its Just. So. Wrong.

Writing to me is about expressing your humanity — baring your soul for the world to see. Writing is a way to pass on knowledge and wisdom to others while sharing your own unique experiences. Writing is about the human imagination soaring to heights unknown. Writing is freedom. Writing is human.

Maybe I’m more of an artist about it, but I don’t want to write an e-book in 2 hours, using a robot to regurgitate generic information and sentences. I want writing a book to take me on a journey into myself and my mind. I want people to connect with me when they read my work. I don’t want to pump out robotic garbage to make a few bucks on Gumroad. I just can’t sell my soul like that…
