Nope, didn't block you. Not sure why you can't see the article. I decided to make my piece a personal account of an experience that I had. The fact that you refuse to accept that some people DON'T have a bias to other races as stated in your comment "You can't grow up in this country without having *some* bias to Black people. Even some Black people have *some* bias to Black people" - is a projection of your own feelings. It's presumptuous and inaccurate to assume you know the bias of every single person living in the US. This is a perfect example of projection - you feel a certain way so you see that feeling in everyone. I'm sorry to hear you still have so much bias to work though. People like you take great joy in telling other people how they feel instead of actually listening to how they feel. I hope you're not a therapist.
Not sure which TV shows and magazines you grew up with, but I'm a 90's child and saw people of all races in the media. I was never taught that all black people are on welfare, drugs, or were criminals. In fact some of my best friends and some of the more successful people I knew were black. Gosh, you were either really sheltered or had some terrible teachers growing up. I'm sorry to hear that. Meanwhile, stop presuming you know me and what my experiences were growing up. Much appreciated.
And yes, black people do have bias towards one another as statistics will show you the majority of black homicides have black killers. It would seem someone who is as concerned about the black community as yourself would find ways to raise awareness about gang violence and domestic violence in the black community, figure out the root cause and try to stop it. Oh, what's that? You don't want to go tell gang members that black lives matter and they need to stop shooting each other? Well damn.
You may see me as tone deaf, but I see you as completely deaf to miss my entire point of individuality. Can you or I overthrow the entire government or change the media and reconstruct it? No? Then it seems the only change we can make is on the individual level. And maybe turn off the media once in a while that's feeding you so much garbage.
You represent a group of people who LOVE to talk about this issue for hours on end, but answer me this... what are YOU personally doing to help the black community?
